How to become a certified first responder-Dementia Trained

This certification is for First Responders, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, EMTs, Emergency Preparedness Personnel, 911 Emergency Response Operators and Public Communications. The NCCDP developed a specialized “Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care” curriculum and certifications in response to First Responders request. This Seminar is geared specifically toward First Responders.

The First Responders ADDC Seminar is the pathway to receive a CFR-DT certification through the NCCDP. A Certified Dementia First Responder-Dementia Trained (CFR-DT) is a person who has met the highest standard in Alzheimer’s and Dementia education. They are certified by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners NCCDP.

Take the path to certification as a CFR-DT with the Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar, one of the requirements for individuals pursuing CFR-DT certification in order to qualify through the NCCDP.

Anyone can attend the NCCDP Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar. If you are pursuing certification as a CFR-DT, you must complete the NCCDP Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Seminar. Then you have 30 days from the moment you complete the seminar to submit your application to NCCDP and receive your Certification as a Certified First Responder - Dementia Trained. The organization, NCCDP ensures a high standard in Alzheimer’s and Dementia education through the Certified First Responder-Dementia Trained certification process. The CFR-DT certification demonstrates the achievement of specialized training in the areas of Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The instructor reserves the right to cancel the seminar based on insufficient enrollment. Registrants who need to cancel must provide the instructor with notice in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the seminar. Cancellations are refundable less a $75 administration charge. Substitutions may be made at any time.

No recording is permitted in the seminar unless used for the sole purpose of viewing the digital handbook.

 

CEU’S

The Alzheimer Disease and Dementia Care Seminar has been approved for CEU’S for Nurses with the CEU Network in most states for an additional fee of $28.00, information will be provided in class.

Remembering Rose founder, Patty Flott has a BA from Mount Saint Mary’s University where she studied Psychology, Sociology, and Social Welfare.

She founded Anitas Angels, Inc., a residential eldercare care business, employing and training nurses, nursing assistants, and companion care aids to take care of the elderly in their homes. She worked as a Director for Sales and Marketing for the Residence on Greenbelt.

She has been an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer since 2006, working closely with the association as a Support Group Facilitator, raising awareness on Capitol Hill, and promoting legislation that has created an infrastructure that will support healthcare professionals, communities, individuals, families, and care partners.

Patty started Remembering Rose to expedite the delivery of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care education and to ensure that healthcare professionals, staff, memory care communities, families, and individuals are well-trained to provide current, appropriate, competent, and compassionate direct dementia care.

She is certified through the National Council for Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP), as a Certified Dementia Practioner(CDP), Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) and the Certified Dementia Care Support Group Facilitator( CDCSGF), as a Certified First Responder Dementia Trainer(CFR-DT). She is also certified as a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP ) through the International Council of Certified Montessori Dementia Professionals.

Patty delivers current dementia care education through a positive, interactive, and engaging curriculum that is tailored toward her audience. Her mission is to de-stigmatize dementia and bring dementia awareness and education to all who support, service, love and care for people living with dementia so they will have a feeling of belonging, a sense of purpose, and a shared belief that all people living with dementia will have their needs met with respect and dignity.
