Remembering Rose, founder, Patty Flott has a BA from Mount Saint Mary’s University where she studied Psychology, Sociology, and Social Welfare. She founded, Anitas Angels, Inc., a residential eldercare care business, employing and training nurses, nursing assistants, and companion care aids to take care of the elderly in their homes. Patty developed and presented her dementia care training to her staff, assisted livings, and to nursing homes. She facilitated a support group for her clients and their family members She worked closely with her clients whose loved ones had dementia to best help them understand Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia.

She worked as a Director for Sales and Marketing for the Residence on Greenbelt and conducted many dementia workshops. She has been an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer since 2006 working closely with the association to raise money for a cure and on Capitol Hill, promoting legislation, which has already started to create an infrastructure that will support healthcare professionals, communities, individuals, family, and care partners.

Patty started Remembering Rose, Dementia Care Education, to expedite the delivery of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia care education, to ensure that caregivers, staff (all those supporting the health care industry), communities, families, and individuals are well trained to provide appropriate, competent, and compassionate direct care and support for those that need it the most.

She is certified through the National Council for Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP), as a Certified Dementia Practioner(CDP), Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT), CertifiedDementia Care Support Group Facilitator( CDCSGF), and as a Certified First Responder Dementia Trainer(CFR-DT). She is also certified as a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP ) through the International Council of Certified Montessori Dementia Professionals.

Patty’s grandmother, Rose Gallizzo, and her father, Ben Parrish both died with late on-set dementia which they lived with for many years. There was not an understanding of Alzheiner’s disease and related dementia at the time. Her loved ones were told to get their affairs in order, that is all the education we are were given. We have come a long way since then, and Patty is passionate about getting the new information and education out to everyone!

Patty’s passion is to deliver current dementia care education through a positive, interactive, and engaging curriculum that is tailored toward her audience. Her one mission is to bring dementia awareness and education to medical professionals, individuals, and communities so that people living with dementia will have a feeling of belonging, a sense of purpose, and a shared belief that all people with dementia, will have their needs met with respect and dignity.
